Construction season posts have a structural weakness: they are written when a project starts and rarely revisited, so residents' mental map of the town goes stale within a fortnight. The Missouri cities below all found a reason to post again — a correction, a reopening, a progress note — and that habit is the difference between a page people trust and a page people scroll past.

THE PATTERN TO BORROW
Post the reopening as loudly as the closure. Lee's Summit's update is half good news and half bad, in one post, with both stretches named. Most cities announce closures energetically and reopenings quietly or not at all, which trains residents to assume every road is still shut. The reopening post costs nothing and buys back the credibility the closure post spent.
